Coralville Cemetery Walk & Stories
Sunday, October 30, 2022
Coralville historian Rex Brandstatter and City Councilor Keith Jones will take you on a historic tour of personalities who are buried in Coralville’s Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visit the gravesites of former Coralville residents, community leaders, business people, and interesting characters. Coralville cemetery volunteers will "attempt to reveal information" at each site. Each walk begins with a "Coralville cemetery history enlightenment," and ends with a look into the future. Warm up with hot cider and cookies.
Tours are at 3:00 pm, 4:00 pm, and 5:00 pm, and last approximately one hour. No reservations needed. Dress for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. If you are not able to walk the route, golf carts will be available. This will only be rescheduled in the event of a major rainstorm.
This is part of a series of free community events held from October 2022 through October 2023 to celebrate Coralville's sesquicentennial; Coralville will celebrate its 150th anniversary on October 3, 2023. Coralville's 150th anniversary webpage
