The Iowa River Gazebo overlooks the Iowa River and features free-standing exhibits and historical displays of Coralville’s history.  Fourteen informational panels and eight plaques include people, history, and events significant to the area’s development.

The arched metal roofs echo the arches of the adjacent pedestrian bridge which connects Coralville to Iowa City over the Iowa River.  The roof panels are “crimp-curved,” creating a dimpled effect that catches the sunlight. Building materials and colors for the gazebo incorporate red brick and stone, reflecting the riverfront architecture of the nearby Iowa River Power Restaurant, which was originally the Iowa City Electric Light Company.
