Course Etiquette: Creekside Cross

  • Runners should stay on the right side of the mowed path.
  • Cyclists should announce themselves before passing. The person being passed should move to the right side to allow the person to pass on the left.
  • Use good riding etiquette by not riding if ruts are being left behind.

Course Etiquette: Creekside Flow Trails

  • Pedestrians should use the Cross Course only for walking or jogging. Pedestrians should not be on the Flow Trails.
  • Riders should ride single file.
  • Cyclists should pass only on wide, flat trail sections and announce themselves before passing.
  • Use good riding etiquette.

Precautions:

  • Creekside Cross and Flow Trails are for mountain bike riders with some advanced experience.
  • A bike with a 2.4 inch tire or greater is recommended.
  • A helmet should be worn at all times.
  • Trail riders understand that mountain bike riding has risks, and any accidents are subject to the State of Iowa Recreational Immunity Laws, which state the rider understands and recognizes the risk of recreational sports.

Trail Skill Level

Trails are labeled:
  • Green: Beginners; some experience with mountain biking.
  • Blue: Intermediate; comfortable with twists, turns, and more advanced riding skills.
  • Black: Advanced; complicated runs with drops and air time.

Trail Access

Clear Creek Trail has been extended from east of Deer Creek Road to Creekside Ballpark, next to Coralville Creekside Cross. In the future, it will connect with Tiffin's trail west of I-380. The trail segments under the I-80 and I-380 bridges are not expected to open until 2024 due to the I-80/380 Systems Interchange project. Clear Creek Trail information
