With over 30,000 square feet of library and meeting rooms, the Coralville Public Library is a community center serving a diverse population as a resource for leisure, knowledge, and learning. Library programs and services are provided equitably in an atmosphere that is friendly, responsive, comfortable, and accessible. The Coralville Public Library champions every person’s right to information and resources.
Facilities
Patrons may use the library’s photocopier, fax machine, microfilm reader, listening and viewing stations, and public phone. The library offers public computers with Microsoft programs and internet access. Meeting space is available for non-profit organizations by reservation. Smaller study rooms are available for individuals or small groups.
Borrowing Materials
A photo ID and proof of current address are required to register for a free library card. Children under the age of 14 must be registered by a parent or guardian. The State of Iowa’s Open Access program allows residents of any town offering library services to obtain a card from any public library in Iowa.
Collection
The library owns approximately 92,000 items for public use, including books, magazines, newspapers, videos, audio books, music CDs, and multimedia.
Adult Services
The library offers reader’s advisory services as well as programs including reading groups, a literature-based film series, and self-paced seasonal reading programs.
Youth Services
The library has a variety of services and programs for children, teens, and their families. For information about specific schedules, please pick up a brochure and monthly calendar at the Children’s Desk.
Reference Services
The library offers full reference service in person, over the phone, and via e-mail. The Community Resources area of the library houses brochures and notices from local government and nonprofit agencies.
