Park Description
North Ridge Park serves as a hub for trails north to Oakdale Research Park and to the North Liberty Recreation Center, as well as south to Coral Ridge Mall, under I-80, and to the Clear Creek Trail. This neighborhood park features a fishing pond, playgrounds, a 0.9 mile walking trail, picnic areas, two small shelters, a rentable shelter for 40 people, seasonal park restrooms, and wireless internet.
The 1,700 square foot North Ridge Pavilion (which includes a great room with gas fireplace, kitchen, and veranda) is one of Coralville’s most unique buildings. It can be rented and holds groups up to 125; call 319.248.1750 for more information.

Playground Fundraising Kickoff – Can We Raise $100,000?
Why Donate?
Great playgrounds are one of the most beloved childhood memories and often mark childhood milestones!
Funding
The City of Coralville set aside $110,000 through a playground reserve program, but price increases raised the playground and accessible surfacing estimate to over $200,000. Staff are writing grants and looking at alternate funding.
We are also seeking donations for the North Ridge Park playground plan and Kim’s Corner.
About Kim's Corner
Kim’s Corner is a joint project of Coralville Parks and Recreation and Grant Wood AEA. Kim Lestina worked as a teacher with Grant Wood AEA teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing. Kim also worked for 34 years in various part-time roles and on many special events for Coralville Parks and Recreation.
Funds will be used to build a corner of the playground focused on face-to-face interaction such as a face-to-face swings, benches, ASL interpretive panel, and other features. These all celebrate Kim Lestina’s life work with the deaf and hard of hearing.
What Will My Contribution Do?
Your contribution will help:
- children build problem solving skills, expand imaginations, and create physical play challenges
- ensure that the playground area continues to be a neighborhood meeting place for all ages
- expand the size and scope of the playground amenities
