Coralville 4thFest

It's an Independence Day Tradition!

4thFest is July 3 & 4

Join us for Coralville's annual 4thFest celebration! Visit the carnival and vendors in S.T. Morrison Park on July 3 and 4, and enjoy family-friendly activities in the park on July 4. About 4thFest

Free concerts 

Wednesday, July 3 

Bring blankets and lawn chairs for two free outdoor concerts in the park: The Sidewinders return to 4thFest to open the stage at 6:30 pm. Then at 8:00 pm, Journey former lead vocalist Steve Augeri brings his signature blend of rock and soul to Coralville. Free concerts

See the parade & fireworks

Thursday, July 4

Start the 4th of July with the annual Kiwanis pancake breakfast, see the area's largest 4th of July parade beginning at 10:00 am, check out games and entertainment in the park throughout the afternoon and into the evening, and listen to the patriotic sounds of the Iowa City Community Band at 8:30 pm. Then, cap off Independence Day by watching spectacular fireworks at dark.

4thFest Is On, Rain or Shine

4thFest events, including the concert and the parade, are anticipated to go on as scheduled, rain or shine. The fireworks show will be held as long as weather conditions make it possible. As of publication time, the forecast looks like we'll be okay!  4thFest weather FAQ


Fireworks Safety

Illegal fireworks will fizzle your fun

If you are thinking about shooting off fireworks this holiday, think again. It is still illegal to use fireworks in Coralville (unless you are an insured operator approved by the City). The same applies in many surrounding communities. Be a good neighbor in Coralville: don't shoot off fireworks.  Fireworks

What's Open, What's Closed on Independence Day

City offices, the library, and Coralville Transit bus service will be closed on Thursday, July 4.  Trash, recycling, and yard waste for Thursday routes will be picked up on Friday, July 5.  View the holiday schedule

Coral Ridge Avenue

The last stretch of work on Coral Ridge Avenue from Oakdale Boulevard to Forevergreen Road is wrapping up. Work continues on crosswalks and corner pedestrian landings along with trail connections at the underpass tunnel north of Oakdale Boulevard.

Temporary 10th Street Closure

Between 19th Avenue & 20th Avenue

July 8-17

10th Street will be closed between 19th Avenue and 20th Avenue from Monday, July 8 until Wednesday July 17.  The closure is necessary for MidAmerican Energy to perform preventative maintenance to a gas main located under the street.

Change of Seasons Celebration

Join City Circle and Young Footliters for our annual Change of Seasons Celebration. Celebrate the just-completed seasons with a musical and pictorial retrospective, and preview the upcoming seasons. The event is free and open to the public.

July 17 & 18 | 7:00 pm

Children in grades 3 through 10 will perform a fully-staged production of this beloved musical. Presented by Corridor Broadway Bootcamp.
