Kick off the Hawkeye athletic season! Check out Hawkeye merchandise, panel discussions, autographs, trivia, a BAGGO tournament, collector’s showcase, blood drive, kids’ activities, pep rally, and more, plus see the six new Herky on Parade statues. Make One Last Splash This Summer

The summer is winding down, but there’s still time to splash at Coralville’s outdoor pool, open September 5-7. After Labor Day, the Aquatic Center will close for the season. Learn more

Labor Day: What's Closed, What's Open

On Monday, September 7, City offices, the Library, Coralville Transit, and the Farmers’ Market will be closed; the Aquatic Center, Recreation Center, and Indoor Pool will be open. Trash and recycling pickup will be one day later than usual September 7-11. Learn more

Coralville West Land Use Area

Public Meeting: Coralville West Land Use Area Plan

Community planners will host a presentation and discussion at City Hall to continue the public input process for the Coralville West Land Use Area Plan. The West Land Use Area is located between Interstate 380 and Coral Ridge Avenue/Highway 965, south of Forevergreen Road, and north of Interstate 80. Learn more

Lace up your shoes and play: a PLAYvolution is coming to Coralville with a series of events that celebrate the power of unstructured, unplugged, and unlimited play! Enjoy a free community meal and activities, try out a life-size game of Hungry Hungry Hippos, make slime, play a ukulele, build with cardboard, step on stage, try out a scavenger hunt, and more! Learn more

Candidate Filing Period for City Election

Deadline is September 17

The office of Mayor and two City Council positions will be on the ballot for the 2015 Coralville city election this November. Candidates may file their papers with the Johnson County Auditor through Thursday, September 17 at 5:00 pm. Learn more

New Coralville Transit Intermodal Facility Opens

Monthly parking passes are available

Coralville’s new intermodal facility is open in the Iowa River Landing.  Monthly commuter parking passes and bike locker rentals are on sale now. The Intermodal includes public parking, Coralville Transit and Megabus service, electric car charging stations, trail access, and green features. Learn more

Construction Update

Coral Ridge Avenue

Work on Coral Ridge Avenue from Holiday Road to Oakdale Boulevard continues. Four lanes are expected to open in late September. Specific work must be complete for all four lanes to open due to clear zone requirements for construction within or adjacent to a roadway. For the current update, visit

Forevergreen Road

Forevergreen Road is closed between Coral Ridge Avenue/Highway 965 and Ridgeway Drive for road improvements as part of the new Hy-Vee under construction on the southeast corner of the Forevergreen Road and Crosspark Road.  A detour is signed; the closure began in late August and is expected to last two months.
