Be in the Know About Snow

Shovel sidewalks & curb ramps

Let it snow, let it snow! With more snow in the forecast, it’s a good time to be reminded to shovel your sidewalks—including curb ramps (where the sidewalk meets the street)—within 24 hours after the snowfall ends.

Snowblowers & sleepy neighbors

If you need to clear snow at night, remember this: the City’s noise control ordinance doesn’t allow “motor-powered, muffler-equipped snow removal equipment” (such as a gas snow blower) between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am, unless it’s City-owned or City-hired snow removal.  If you are eager to clear snow in the night, a snow shovel is less likely to wake the neighbors.

Restoration project is the first of its kind for our community

January 2019 marks the beginning of the Coralville Woodland Restoration Project, a multi-step project to restore specific forested areas that have been overtaken by non-native invasive species and non-native tree growth. Managing these forested stands will encourage growth of native tree populations for future generations to enjoy. Woodland restoration
