Coralville Transit Intermodal Facility to Open August 24

New transportation hub supports commuter, bus, & bike options

Coralville’s new intermodal facility opens on August 24 in the Iowa River Landing. A park-and-ride commuter program, local and regional bus service, secure bike lockers, electric car charging stations, connectivity to trails, and green features support community transportation options. Monthly commuter parking passes and monthly bike locker rentals are on sale now.

Check Your Route Before You Bus About!

New bus routes & schedules begin August 24

Coralville Transit will launch new bus routes, route adjustments, and schedule changes on Monday, August 24.  Service to the Iowa River Landing has been added, and some routes and schedules have changed. View routes and schedules

Filing Period Begins Soon for City Election Candidates

Office of Mayor and two City Council positions will be on the ballot for the 2015 Coralville city election. Coralville residents interested in running for office may file their candidate papers with the Johnson County Auditor beginning Monday, August 24 through Thursday, September 17 at 5:00 pm. In the Iowa River Landing

Celebrate “all that is Hawkeye” and kick off the Hawkeye athletic season! The festival includes a tradeshow featuring Hawkeye merchandise, panel discussions, autographs, a Hawkeye trivia challenge, BAGGO tournament, collector’s showcase, blood drive, children’s activities, pep rally, concert, and more. Food and beverage are available for purchase. All events, except the evening concert and the Hawkeye BAGGO Tournament, are free. Learn more

Tickets on Sale for FRYfest Concert

Tickets are on sale for $15 at, Coralville City Hall, and other sites to see Joan Jett and the Blackhearts in concert on September 4 at FRYfest in Coralville’s Iowa River Landing.  Prices go up to $20 on August 31. Learn more

Sounds of Summer: The Funk Daddies

Thursday, August 20 | 6:30 pm

It’s a night of free music at Coralville’s Youth Sports Park! Bring lawn chairs or a blanket, pack a picnic or get something from Wagyu Wagon, and enjoy an evening out! Learn more

Make Another Splash This Summer

The summer is winding down, but there’s still time to splash at Coralville’s outdoor pool, open daily through August 23, and then open on weekends and Labor Day. After September 7, the Aquatic Center will close for the season.  Learn more

After an intensive two week musical boot-camp rehearsal, professional singers and eager students bring a full production of Leonard Bernstein's iconic musical in this tragic tale of star-crossed lovers.

Ozma of Oz presented by Young Footliters Youth Theatre

September 11-13

Join Dorothy, Tip, and the Cowardly Lion on a quest to help Scarecrow regain the throne from the dastardly Nome King. This performance is a world premiere of the stage adaptation written by local playwright Matt Falduto.

Preschool Storytime

Tuesdays & Wednesdays | 10:30 am (program is repeated)

Preschool storytime resumes on August 25 and 26!  Children ages 3 and up can listen to stories, sing, and participate in activities. Learn more

Wee Read

Thursdays | 10:15 & 11:15 am (program is repeated)

Wee Read resumes on August 27. Children under age 3 and their caregivers can listen to stories, rhymes, songs, and finger plays. Learn more

Kids Create

Thursday, September 3 | 3:00 pm

Each month, kids in grades K-4 can enjoy a different activity: make a craft, build with Legos, or play a game. Sign up begins a week before Kids Create. Learn more

LitFlicks: To Have and Have Not

Thursday, September 3 | 6:00 pm

During World War II, a charter boat operator in the Caribbean transports a resistance member to Martinique. Starring Humphrey Bogart, Lauren Bacall, and Walter Brennan; based on the book by Ernest Hemingway. Learn more
