Coralville RAGBRAI Ride the Red Carpet

RAGBRAI Seeks Volunteers

Roll out the Red Carpet for Riders

Welcome RAGBRAI riders from all over the world when Coralville hosts over 20,000 RAGBRAI riders and visitors on July 24. Volunteers are still needed!

Pick your job and sign up solo or gather friends, co-workers, neighbors, or church groups. Volunteer perks include a free t-shirt and concert admission. Positions range from info center assistance, directing traffic, welcoming riders as “paparazzi,” and rolling out the actual red carpet.

Police & Fire Departments Rally Blood Donors

Thursday, July 30  |  2:30-7:30 pm

The public is invited to donate blood on behalf of either the Coralville Police or Fire Department at City Hall. The “Battle of the Badges” blood drive, hosted by the DeGowin Blood Center, is a friendly competition to see which department can get the most blood donations and save the most lives. Learn more

Hello, Neighbor!

Host a Neighborhood Block Party on August 4

Coralville residents are invited to host block parties and connect with their neighbors during the 32nd annual National Night Out on Tuesday evening, August 4.  It’s a great night to meet those who live nearby and build neighborhood ties. Guests from the Coralville Police and Fire Departments and City Council might stop by to say hello! Learn more

Sounds of Summer

Thursday, July 16  |  6:30-8:00 pm

Enjoy an evening of games, activities, and live music by The Mayflies at Dovetail Recreation Area!  Bring lawn chairs or blankets, pack a picnic or get something to eat from a food vendor, and enjoy an evening out. Learn more

On Stage at the Center for the Performing Arts

Over the next two weeks, the stage at the Center features:

  • Gilbert and Sullivan’s The Gondoliers, presented by the University of Iowa School of Music (July 9-12)
  • Rapunzel! Rapunzel! A Very Hairy Fairy Tale, presented by Young Footliters (July 24-26)

What's Happening at the Library

Family Night with Blank Park Zoo

Monday, July 13  |  6:30 pm

Faster than a speeding bullet!  More powerful than a locomotive!  Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound…well, almost. The Blank Park Zoo presents “Powers of a Superhero.”  Animals can do some amazing things, and you’ll get to meet some at this event. Learn more

Doctor Who Day

Tuesday, July 14  

The Coralville Public Library has been invaded by Dalek! Will the Tardis arrive in time? Doctor Who Day includes Tardis in the Library rotunda, “Whovian’s Unite!” for teens, a Doctor Who photo booth, and highlights from the Doctor Who fan collection at the University of Iowa Archives. Learn more

Wednesday, July 15  |  7:00 pm

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to ride in the Register’s Annual Great Bicycle Ride Across Iowa? Al Raymond will field questions and talk about his experiences riding across the state. Learn more
