Bring a flashlight and an adult

Tuesday, October 31 | 5:30-8:00 pm

Halloween trick or treating in Coralville is from 5:30 to 8:00 pm on October 31, rain or shine. From big goblins to little pumpkins, all trick or treaters should be with a supervising adult.

City Election Is November 7

Candidate forums

The office of Mayor and three City Council seats are on the ballot for the Coralville city election. Be informed:

  • Watch the October 16 candidate forum at
  • Attend the candidate forum on November 1 from 6:30-8:00 pm at the Coralville Public Library, or catch a rebroadcast. Learn more

Early voting

Vote at the Johnson County Auditor’s Office weekdays through November 6, at the Coralville Public Library or the Auditor’s Office on Sunday, November 5, or at other satellite sites. Learn more 

Voting on election day

Tuesday, November 7 | 7:00 am-8:00 pm

On election day, registered voters must vote at their polling place. Learn more

1st Avenue

1st Avenue Lane Closures

Access to businesses will be maintained

October 26, 30, & 31

Temporary lane closures on 1st Avenue near the 6th Street intersection may delay traffic on October 26, 30, and 31, but there’s good news: they allow CRANDIC to finish upgrading the railroad crossing ahead of the 1st Avenue reconstruction project from 6th Street to 9th Street that will begin next spring. Learn more

Trail Closures

Section of Iowa River Trail

The Iowa River Trail between the Iowa River Power Restaurant parking lot and E. 7th Street/Quarry Road is closed; earthwork and storm sewer installation impacts the existing trail.  As an alternate route, use the sidewalks on the west side of 1st Avenue to E. 9th Street, then to Quarry Road. Learn more

Clear Creek Trail south of Highway 6

A trail segment between Highway 6 and the University of Iowa West Campus Apartments is closed through December due to stormwater pump station improvements at the west end of 1st Street.  As an alternate route, use sidewalks along Highway 6, Mormon Trek Boulevard, and Hawkeye Park Road. Learn more
