City Responds to Emerald Ash Borer

Proactive strategy aims to lessen environmental impact

Property owners encouraged to make plans for their ash trees

Emerald ash borer (EAB), a tree-killing pest of ash trees, has been confirmed in Coralville. On April 11, the City Council approved a five-year EAB response plan of treatments, removals, and replanting for an estimated 300 City-owned ash trees.

The goal of the plan is to mitigate the spread of emerald ash borer in public ash trees and lessen economic, aesthetic, and environmental impact. Learn more

Coralville Honored as Tree City USA 

City receives 25th consecutive award

Coralville was honored with a 2016 Tree City USA Award and a Tree City USA Growth Award, presented by the Arbor Day Foundation and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources Forestry Bureau. 

Coralville was one of 17 Iowa communities to qualify for Tree City USA Growth status. Learn more

Free outdoor concert on July 3

Get ready for some "Crystal Blue Persuasion," "Crimson and Clover," and "Mony, Mony" because Tommy James and the Shondells will headline the free 2017 4thFest concert in S.T. Morrison Park on July 3.

Safely dispose of garlic mustard in the “garlic mustard” dumpster at the Coralville Recycling Center through mid-May. Learn more
