Candidates and community meet

On January 13, the four finalists interviewing to be Coralville’s next police chief answered questions from community members at an informal public meet-and-greet reception at City Hall. Following the reception, all candidates participated in an assessment center and final interviews. Appointment by City Administrator Kelly Hayworth, subject to approval of the City Council, is expected in late January.

About the search

Candidates were selected following a national search process, review, and evaluation guided by Des Moines-based Moulder and Associates Police Management Consultants. The Coralville Civil Service Commission narrowed the list to six candidates, which was further narrowed to four by City Administrator Kelly Hayworth. It is anticipated that the new Chief of Police will begin work in February.
