Increases go into effect on July 1, 2022, for the City of Coralville’s solid waste and water rates. The changes were approved by the City Council following a review and public hearing in February for the budget for the fiscal year that begins on July 1.
Monthly Solid Waste (Trash/Recycling) Rates
A solid waste rate increase will help fund increased operating costs and compensate for lower values for recyclable materials.
Until June 30, 2022:
- $17.17 (35-gallon trash cart); $20.00 (65-gallon trash cart)
Effective July 1, 2022:
- $18.92 (35-gallon trash cart); $21.75 (65-gallon trash cart)
Monthly Water Rates
A water rate increase will allow the City to finance significant planned water system and capacity improvements.

- Residential: $7.00 (first 200 cubic feet of use) and $1.80 (each additional 100 cubic feet of use)
