Beat the Heat: Where to Cool off in Coralville


The City of Coralville offers several public facilities where residents can cool off when outdoor temperatures are on the rise:

Coralville Community Aquatic Center
Coralville's outdoor pool features zero-depth entry, three slides (including a space bowl and an open flume body slide), diving boards, a splash deck with fountains and play structures, on-deck shaded seating, and a full-service concession stand. The pool will close for the season at 6:00 pm on Sunday, August 21, 2022.

    • Saturday and Sunday, 12:00 pm-6:00 pm
    • July 4:   1:00 pm-6:00 pm
  • Admission: $6.00 per person; free admission for children under the age of two

Coralville Recreation Center
The Recreation Center is air conditioned and offers a number of indoor recreational opportunities. The Recreation Center includes facilities for basketball, racquetball, or volleyball; an exercise room; a game room full of entertaining activities, including foosball, pool, and video games; and vending machines and a bottle filler.

    • Monday-Friday: 9:00 am-9:00 pm
    • Saturday: 8:00 am-7:00 pm
  • Visitors to the Coralville Recreation Center who are in 5th grade or above must have a free Rec Pass to check in and use the game room, gyms, racquetball, or drop-in programs, or be enrolled in a program or rental, or have an exercise room pass. Children under 5th grade may enter using a parent/guardian’s free Rec Pass.

The Indoor Pool at the Coralville Recreation Center is closed until September 5, 2022, for pool and deck maintenance.

Coralville Public Library
The Library is air conditioned and offers a variety of services, programs, and materials for all ages including summer reading programs, book discussions, movies, special events, and more.
