The City of Coralville received a $25,000 MATCH Grant from the Wellmark Foundation for the Creekside Observation Plaza. The project is a trailhead for people to gather before or after their natural surface trail ride or to observe others using the Creekside Cross and Flow Trails at Creekside Sports Park.  The observation plaza includes seating and shade structure, water fountain, bike rack, and informational signage.

The total cost project cost was $59,000. The observation plaza was designed by Bolton and Menk, the earthwork and shelter was completed by the Coralville Parks Division, and the limestone and paving was completed by Hardscape Solutions. Landscaping will be completed in spring 2022.  A ribbon cutting will be held in May 2022 for this new Coralville amenity.
