Parks and Recreation Makes Changes for Building Use

Under the November 16 Proclamation for Enhanced Public Health Measures from Governor Reynolds, Coralville Parks and Recreation will make the following changes to operations to observe the new guidelines.

  • All registered program classes are suspended. Staff will be in contact regarding rescheduling or other arrangements.
  • All youth and adult sport activities are suspended including open basketball and open volleyball registrations.
  • All building use for the Coralville Recreation Center will be Coralville resident only or West High Students. Users must have a Rec Pass to enter the facility. To learn more about obtaining a Rec Pass at  
  • All use of the Coralville Indoor Pool will be Coralville resident, Coralville Pool Pass holder, or West High School student with ID.
  • All building use will be by appointment only including lap swim, open swim, gym use, exercise room and game room.There will be limited openings per timeslot. Call the Coralville Recreation Center at 319-248-1750 to make a reservation for use individually or with immediate household members.   
    • Gym Use – may schedule and will be assigned one basket. Will schedule at the basket one person or two people, if from the same household. Players may only use the one basket and must stay on their one assigned basket. No cross court or full court games. Time slot will be for one hour. Four baskets will be used in the Big Gym and two in the Mini-Gym.
    • Exercise Room – one, hour reservations at a time. One person at a time.
    • Lap Swim – one person allowed per lane.
    • Open Swim – only fifteen people will be allowed in the pool at one time. Open swim will be in one, hour time blocks.
  • The Coralville Hybrid School Age Care program will continue under normal operations. The high school WiFi NESTS will continue taking reservations for use of a table and access to WiFi on Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday evenings. High school ID required.  
  • North Ridge Pavilion rentals will be limited to fifteen (15) people.   

Masks are required for all indoor activities in the Recreation Center. Masks must be worn through the locker room and to the water, but not in the water, for the indoor pool.  

Outdoor spaces and trails remain open. Users are asked to socially distance from those outside of immediate family when using outdoor spaces and to wear mask when six feet of distance cannot be maintained.
