If you are thinking of lighting off fireworks in Coralville, think again. As in the past, under city ordinance, it is illegal to use any fireworks in Coralville, with the exception of fireworks displays handled by insured operators and approved by City authorities. Violators face a minimum fine of $250 and can be held liable for any damages they cause. Fireworks are also prohibited in many surrounding communities.
Novelty fireworks (sparklers, snakes, or snaps) remain legal.

Coralville’s drive-in fireworks show is scheduled to take place on July 4 at the Coralville Youth Sports Complex, 2480 Dempster Drive, beginning at 9:45 pm, with a socially-distanced option on the trail for those who attend by foot or bike.
