Final Phase of E. 9th Street Improvements Begins March 16

The final phase of the E. 9th Street Improvements Project between 1st Avenue and Quarry Road is set to begin on Monday, March 16.

E. 9th Street will have one lane open in each direction at all times. Pedestrian access is provided along the north side of E. 9th Street. Access to businesses and residences in the Iowa River Landing will be maintained at all times.  Drivers are reminded that E. 7th Street also provides access to and from the Iowa River Landing.  The project has a completion date of July 22, 2020.

The E. 9th Street Improvements include landscaped center medians, additional north-south crosswalks, curb bump outs to establish parallel parking areas and shorten crosswalk distances, completion of the brick paver streetscape along the south side of E. 9th Street, and conversion of the E. 9th Street & E. 2nd Avenue intersection into a four-leg roundabout.
