Updated January 27, 2022: This event has been cancelled. Our friends at UI Recreation Outdoor Services and the UI Raptor Center have been monitoring eagle activity near the Iowa River Power Dam and throughout the area. The area has only a few eagles nests being occupied. While it could be due to a number of factors, it may be because of the warm December temperatures in our area. With only one pair of eagles nesting near the dam this year, we will cancel the Eagle Watch. We will try again in 2023. Catch some great, free, winter activities at Winterfest in the Iowa River Landing on Sunday, February 13, 2022.

We'll be searching the skies for eagles and watching their swoops and dives as they fish in the Iowa River.
Watch the eagles from the dam or come inside for viewing and activities brought to you by Coralville Parks and Recreation and our partners at the UI STEM Center and UI Recreational Outdoor Services, the Iowa City Bird Club, and Johnson County Conservation.
