The City of Coralville uses social media, including but not limited to Facebook, Twitter, and Nextdoor, as a public service to disseminate information. We encourage comments, concerns, and questions regarding any of the topics on our social media pages.

However, the City reserves the right to restrict or remove content if it violates the guidelines listed below:
  1. No comments that foster, promote, or perpetuate illegal discrimination, including discrimination against age, color, creed, disability, gender, marital status, national origin, ethnicity, race, religion, or sexual orientation.
  2. No graphic, profane, obscene, libelous, defamatory, harassing, bullying, or threatening language or comments, nor personal attacks or defamatory statements.
  3. No solicitations or advertisements.
  4. No comments that compromise the safety or security of the public or public systems.
  5. No copyrighted or trademarked material.
  6. No comments promoting illegal activity.
  7. No fraudulent, deceptive, or misleading comments.
  8. No off topic comments.
  9. No comments that support or oppose political campaigns, candidates, or ballot measures.
  10. No comments containing protected information, including social security numbers or passwords.
  11. No comments that violate the social media platform statement of rights and responsibilities, commenting guidelines, or policies.
The City of Coralville maintains the right to modify these terms and conditions without notice, and any modification is effective immediately upon posting to this page unless otherwise stated. 

The City of Coralville maintains the right to limit or remove the comment featured on City social media sites without public notice.

The following may be used in response to comment violations: "The City of Coralville uses social media as a public service to disseminate information. We encourage comments, concerns, and questions regarding any of the topics on our social media pages. The City reserves the right to remove posts if they violate the guidelines listed at www.coralville.org/socialmediacomments. Future violations may result in being blocked from this forum. For more information, please see www.coralville.org/socialmediacomments."
