About the Department

Staffing

The Coralville Fire Department is staffed with over 40 volunteers and 5 paid members.

Services

The department provides fire, medical, hazardous materials, and water rescue services for:
  • Coralville
  • North East Lucas Township
  • University of Iowa Research Park
The department also provides proactive prevention services such as fire code enforcement, pre-plan of commercial properties, and fire safety education, as well as local community projects. 

Firefighter Responsibilities

The Fire Department is staffed with and responsible for:
  • Fire suppression
  • Fire prevention and education
  • Fire investigations
  • Fire inspections
  • Hazardous materials response
  • Weather spotting
  • Confined space rescue
  • Water rescue and recovery
