Permitted Grave Markers & Monuments

All remains in Oak Hill Cemetery must be properly identified with a permanent monument or grave marker, which must be placed within 360 days of burial.  

Monuments and grave markers must be commercially manufactured of granite or bronze-type materials normally available to the industry.  Installation of monuments and grave markers manufactured with materials other than granite or bronze-type shall be pre-approved by the Parks Superintendent and  / or the Parks and Recreation Director.

Monument Dimension Guidelines

 Single traditional monument  36" x 24" and at least 4" thick  60"
 Double traditional monument  72" x 24" and at least 4" thick  60"
 Single flush marker*  32" x 32" and at least 4" thick  n/a
 Double flush marker*  64" x 32" and at least 4" thick  n/a
*Only flat markers that are flush with the ground are allowed on burial plots located in the .25 acre parcel of the cemetery located nearest to 1st Avenue.

All monuments and grave markers require a minimum of a 3" clear space border around the perimeter of all sides to the edge of the concrete foundation.
