Trash Collection

The City of Coralville provides trash collection and recycling services for single family and duplex housing only.

Trash Carts

Coralville uses an automated garbage pickup system; residents may choose a 35-gallon trash container or a 65-gallon trash container.

The cart is property of the City of Coralville. When you stop your utility service, you must leave your trash cart at the property for the next resident(s) to use. Cart sizes and monthly trash fee

Garbage Stickers for Extra Trash

Use a garbage sticker
Purchase a $3 single-use garbage sticker for any additional bag of trash (up to 33 gallons, 40-pound weight limit) that does not fit in the trash cart. Bag stickers can be purchased at:

  • Coralville City Hall, 1512 7th St.
  • Coralville Hy-Vee, 1914 8th St.
  • Coralville Hy-Vee, 3285 Crosspark Rd.

Where to put extra bags of trash
Place the extra trash bag, with a garbage sticker on it, on top of the closed lid of the can.

Only one additional tagged bag, placed on top of the closed lid of the can, will be picked up per week. Tagged bags placed on the ground will not be picked up and require a special appointment.

How to Get Rid of Large Trash Items

By appointment
To schedule a curbside pickup of appliances, electronics, tires, or other items too large for your cart, schedule a special pick-up.
