Responsibilities
Coralville's Human Resource / Risk Management Director is Mike Funke. The Department is responsible for:
- Developing job descriptions
- Compiling benefits packages
- Fulfilling the staffing needs of the City through coordination of the hiring process
- Overseeing the implementation of all federal, State, and City safety requirements
- Administering City employment practices, including salary administration, job evaluations, medical programs, and the review of personnel policies
- Directing labor relations
- Reviewing and regularly updating auto and general liability insurance to ensure adequate coverage
- Performing a variety of other functions that relate directly to the employee workforce of the City
