The most frequently reported offenses include:

Detectives conduct follow-up investigations into the more serious crimes that occur in Coralville. During 2009, 160 viable cases received the attention of the Investigations Division.

Detective Assignments
Four detectives are assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Coralville Police Department. Three detectives work general criminal investigations, while one detective is assigned full-time to drug investigations with the Johnson County Drug Task Force.

Coralville detectives regularly work with investigators from other local, State, and federal agencies on crimes that cross jurisdictional boundaries. Detectives receive specialized training to aid them in their duties in areas including:

• Crime scene processing
• Evidence analysis
• Photography
