Mayor’s Clean up Week

October 5-9

Set out big items, such as broken furniture or busted bathroom fixtures, for free pickup on trash day.
 
For unwanted (but usable) building and housing materials and appliances, consider donating them to ReStore. For large amounts of cardboard to recycle, due to excessive cardboard collection during Mayor’s Clean up Week, consider setting it out the week after Mayor’s Clean up Week, or take it to the Coralville Recycling Center. Learn more

In recognition of Fire Prevention Week, the Coralville Fire Department will host an open house at Fire Station #1 on 5th Street. Stop by for a live demonstration, fire safety information, fire truck display, kids fire extinguisher game, and refreshments. Learn more



Save a Life, Get a Burrito

Give back at the community blood drive

Friday, October 16 | 2:30-7:30 pm

Register for the City of Coralville fall blood drive at City Hall, courtesy of the University of Iowa DeGowin Blood Center. Successful donors will receive a free burrito coupon from Panchero's. One donation can save up to three lives! Learn more



North Ridge Trail Tunnel Temporarily Closed for Repair

The North Ridge Trail bike/pedestrian tunnel under I-80 (between North Ridge Park and Coral Ridge Mall) is closed until October 14 for painting and a lighting upgrade. Alternate pedestrian access over I-80 is at 12th Avenue. Learn more



Farmers’ Market Season Ends Monday

Make one last stop this season at the Coralville Farmers’ Market on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm in the Coralville Community Aquatic Center parking lot. October 5 marks the last market day of the season.

What's Happening at the Library

Sara Paretsky in Conversation with Maureen Corrigan

Friday, October 2 | 7:00 pm

Author Sara Paretsky will receive the Paul Engle Prize, presented by the Iowa City UNESCO City of Literature organization and sponsored by the City of Coralville, at the Coralville Public Library as part of the Iowa City Book Festival. She will be joined by noted NPR and Washington Post book critic Maureen Corrigan. This event is free and open to the public. Learn more


Author Reading: Greer Macallister

Tuesday, October 6 | 7:00 pm

It’s an evening of mystery and magic with the author of The Magician’s Lie. Greer Macallister will read from her novel, answer questions, and sign books. Learn more


College Planning Night

Thursday, October 8 | 7:00 pm

High school sophomores, juniors, and their parents can learn about college planning during a free presentation offered by Coralville Public Library and the Iowa College Access Network (ICAN). Learn more
