Progress Continues on Major Road Reconstruction

1st Avenue

Paving on 6th Street and 1st Avenue south of the railroad crossing is complete, and subbase is being placed for 1st Avenue paving north of the railroad crossing to Pipeline Road. The 6th Street connection to 1st Avenue is scheduled to re-open in mid-August.

1st Avenue is reduced to one lane in each direction from just south of 6th Street to just south of 9th Street. Reconstruction on the west half of the project should be complete by mid-September, and then work will begin on the east half.
