Finishing 1st

Progress Continues on Road Reconstruction Projects

1st Avenue

Concrete pouring began this week for the street pavement from the west end of 6th Street toward 1st Avenue. Due to the complexity of the new intersection, multiple pours are needed to complete paving in this area. The connection from 6th Street to 1st Avenue is scheduled for completion in late July.

1st Avenue remains reduced to one lane in each direction from just south of 6th Street to just south of 9th Street. Reconstruction on the west half of the 1st Avenue project should be complete in late August, and then work will begin on the east half of the project.

Coral Ridge Ave improvements

Coral Ridge Avenue

Coral Ridge Avenue reconstruction reached a milestone on July 3 when most of the Coral Ridge Avenue and Oakdale Boulevard intersection re-opened, including the additional turn lanes on Oakdale Boulevard.

At Oakdale Boulevard and Crosspark Road, traffic on Oakdale Boulevard is back on the correct side of the raised center median. Please drive carefully and pay attention to signs, and be aware of other vehicles as area drivers adjust to the changes.

The Coral Ridge Avenue detour continues using Oakdale Boulevard, Crosspark Road, and Wheaton Road until mid-November.
