Coral Ridge Ave Improvements

Progress Continues on Major Road Projects

Coral Ridge Avenue

Concrete pouring wrapped up last week for the new street pavement of the Coral Ridge Avenue and Oakdale Boulevard intersection; most of that intersection is expected to reopen before July 4, including the additional turn lanes on Oakdale Boulevard, as well as the Oakdale Boulevard and Crosspark Road intersection.

All of the concrete sections of the 100-foot long box culvert, which will become a bike/pedestrian underpass tunnel, were moved into place by crane over the past week.

The Coral Ridge Avenue detour continues using Oakdale Boulevard, Crosspark Road, and Wheaton Road. The detour will last until mid-November.  Coral Ridge Avenue improvements

Finishing 1st

1st Avenue

1st Avenue is reduced to one lane in each direction from just south of 6th Street to just south of 9th Street until late August, when reconstruction on the west half of the 1st Avenue project should be complete.

6th Street is closed from 1st Avenue to the Baymont Inn & Suites driveway until late July. Coralville Transit riders may experience delays, with reroutes for a few stops on 6th Street near 1st Avenue. 1st Avenue improvements
