Take Turns

Get Used to the “Zipper Merge”

Using both lanes isn't rude, it's efficient

Look for signs on northbound 1st Avenue and Coral Ridge Avenue construction areas reminding drivers to use both lanes up to the lane taper, and to take turns merging “zipper style” into the open lane where the signs indicate.

The zipper merge reduces backups, keeps both lanes moving at similar speeds, and gets everyone to where they're going faster. Zipper merge video
