Celebrate 4thFest with Coralville

An Independence Day festival | July 1-4

Coralville’s 4thFest, a community tradition, is known for free concerts, spectacular fireworks, the area’s largest 4th of July parade, and activities for all ages.

4thFest 2017 is July 1 through 4. Most events are free and are at Coralville’s S.T. Morrison Park. Join us!

Open: City offices, Library, Coralville Transit, trash and recycling
Adjusted hours: Aquatic Center, Indoor Pool, and Recreation Center
Closed: Farmers’ Market


Tuesday, July 4

Closed: City offices, Library, Coralville Transit, trash and recycling; no summer lunch for kids
Adjusted hours: Aquatic Center, Indoor Pool, and Recreation Center
 
Trash and recycling will be picked up one day later than usual for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday routes.

Family Drive-In Movie

The Secret Life of Pets (PG)

Friday, June 23 | 6:30 pm

Pack a picnic and blankets for a free “drive-in” movie in S.T. Morrison Park. Bring your wagons and ride-on toys, or make your own cardboard car starting at 5:30 pm; supplies will be provided. We’ll show the movie on an LED screen so it’s over before dark.

The drive-in is a nod to the former Coralville Drive-in Theatre, which is the theme for this year’s 4thFest parade. Learn more

Celebrate Johnson County Historical Society’s 50th Anniversary

Open houses at two historical buildings

Sunday, July 2 | 1:00-4:00 pm

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of JCHS, the 1876 Schoolhouse and Old Town Hall, both on 5th Street, will be open to the public on July 2 as part of the 4thFest celebration.

The open houses will feature exhibits about the history of both buildings. Discover how the 1876 Schoolhouse was an important piece to starting Coralville's 4thFest tradition! Learn more

Teens, join us for a fun, interactive presentation by local farmer Scott Koepke on the principles of soil science, biodiversity, and community service. From tomato to potato, let’s grow…not just healthy food, but healthy people who learn to give a little more than they take.
