What’s Open, What’s Closed

Holiday hours and schedules

City administrative offices will close at noon on December 23 and 30, and will be closed on December 26 and January 2. 


On December 24 and 31, bus service will end at 6:00 pm. On December 27, buses will run a Saturday route and a modified 1st Avenue route. There will be no bus service on December 26 and January 2.


The library will be closed on December 24-26 and January 1 and 2.


The Recreation Center and Indoor Pool will be closed on December 24, 25, and January 1, with modified hours on December 31.

Trash & Recycling Dates to Know

Set your trash out one day later than usual

Due to holidays, all trash and recycling routes will be picked up one day later than usual during the weeks of December 26 and January 2. Learn more


Holiday gift wrap

'Tis the Season to Recycle

Holiday wrappings

Gift wrap, packing peanuts, and bubble wrap are not recyclable. However, cardboard wrapping paper tubes, holiday cards and envelopes without foil or embellishments, and some types of tissue paper can be recycled. Learn more


Holiday trees & greenery

Throughout January, we'll pick up live holiday trees at the curb. To be recycle-ready, greenery should be free of decorations, lights, bags, and stands. Learn more


Holiday lights  

Do you have strings of holiday lights to get rid of? The City offers free holiday light recycling at five drop-off locations in Coralville until January 9. Learn more

BrrrFest Will Be Hoppin' 

General admission tickets on sale

Celebrate the beers of winter and the brewers who make them at the annual Coralville BrrrFest on January 28, 2017. A portion of the proceeds supports Coralville’s 4thFest! Tickets are on sale now at www.brrrfest.org.
