Snow

Know When the Snow Must Go

In Coralville, property owners are required to remove snow and ice from public sidewalks within 24 hours after the snowfall ends. The City inspects unshoveled sidewalks on a complaint basis.

If you’re a night owl when it's time to clear your sidewalks, remember that using motor-powered, muffler-equipped snow removal equipment (such as a gas snow blower) between 10:00 pm and 6:00 am is not permitted under the City’s noise control ordinance. Learn more

The plan is the culmination of more than a year’s worth of citizen input, public meetings, and stakeholder interviews, as well as the work of consultants and city staff. Learn more
