A changes to the City of Coralville’s sewer rate goes into effect July 1, 2018:

Monthly Sewer Rates

The monthly sewer rate, which includes the first 200 cubic feet of usage, and the monthly charge for each additional 100 cubic feet will increase.

  • Until June 30, 2018: $11.15 (first 200 cubic feet) + $3.60 (per 100 additional cubic feet)
  • Effective July 1, 2018:  $12.50 (first 200 cubic feet) + $4.00 (per 100 additional cubic feet)

The sewer rate increase allows the City to continue to build resources to finance a significant planned sewer treatment plant project, designed to accommodate Coralville’s growth for the coming 20 years. This project will be permanently financed in Fiscal Year 2021.

Monthly Stormwater Rates (Commercial accounts only)

Commercial accounts will see a stormwater rate increase of $0.65 per equivalent residential unit; there is no change to the stormwater fees for residential customers. The commercial stormwater rate increase allows the City to adequately fund the stormwater management program, including flood pumping stations, improvement projects, stormwater education, and promoting stormwater best management practices.
