The Iowa DOT has a project underway along Highway 6 from just east of Deer Creek Road (near Lowes) to Interstate 380 that will cause delays due to a moving lane closure under flagger control.
The lane closure is needed for installation of subdrain tile along the edges of the Highway 6 pavement. Depending on where the contractor is working on a given day, the traffic signals at the westerly Lowes driveway and at Jones Boulevard might be put into flashing red mode. A flashing red traffic control signal means vehicles must stop; after stopping, proceed when safe and observe the right-of-way rules. The subdrain work should be complete by June 7.
From approximately June 24 through July 6, new asphalt shoulders will be paved along this same stretch of Highway 6, but that work will be done between 8:00 pm and 6:00 am to minimize traffic disruptions.
