Memorial Day Holiday Schedule of City Services


In observance of Memorial Day, the City of Coralville will observe the following holiday schedule on Monday, May 28, 2018:

City Offices

City Hall and Police administration offices, along with the Parks, Water, Wastewater, Streets, and Sanitation Departments will be closed.


The Coralville Public Library will be closed.

Farmers’ Market

There will be no Farmers’ Market.


No Coralville Transit buses will be running.

Recreation Center & Pools

The Recreation Center and the indoor pool will be open 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Monday, May 28, and open normal hours on Saturday, May 26 and Sunday, May 27. An indoor pool schedule with lap swim and open swim times can be found at

The Coralville Community Aquatic Center will be open for the summer season on Saturday, June 2. Summer hours will be 11:00 am to 8:00 pm Monday through Friday, and 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm Saturday and Sunday.

Trash & Recycling

Trash and recycling will be collected one day later than usual the week of Memorial Day (May 28-June 1, 2018):

Monday’s route will be picked up Tuesday, May 29

Tuesday’s route will be picked up Wednesday, May 30

Wednesday’s route will be picked up Thursday, May 31

Thursday’s route will be picked up Friday, June 1

The Coralville Recycling Center at 950 Hughes Street is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

As always, trash and recycling should be at the curb by 7:00 am on collection day.  During the month of May, appliances and electronics will be picked up by appointment on Thursday, May 24 and Friday, May 25. For questions about trash and recycling collection, please call 319.248.1740.

Memorial Day Services

Coralville American Legion Post 721 will hold a Memorial Day service at Oak Hill Cemetery, located on 1st Avenue north of I-80, at 11:15 am on Monday, May 28.  In the event of rain, it will be moved to 11:00 am at Coralville American Legion, 901 2nd Street.
