Coral Ridge Avenue Detours Due to Road Reconstruction

Starting between 9:00 pm and midnight on Sunday, May 13, Coral Ridge Avenue will be closed to traffic from the north half of the Oakdale Boulevard intersection to just south of the Wheaton Road intersection, so total reconstruction of this segment of Coral Ridge Avenue can get underway. Traffic will be detoured using Oakdale Boulevard, Crosspark Road, and Wheaton Road.

Improvements at the Coral Ridge Avenue and Oakdale Boulevard intersection should be completed by the July 4th holiday, but Coral Ridge Avenue will remain closed north of the intersection to Wheaton Road until late October or early November.

Access to businesses through the project corridor, including along the detour route, will be maintained for the duration of the project. During the detour, the only access to the Iowa Medical and Classification Center (IMCC) and the Iowa DOT Maintenance Garage will be from Oakdale Boulevard west of Coral Ridge Avenue. Pedestrian access will be maintained through temporary surfacing and channelizing barriers. Drivers should expect delays and please drive carefully in work zones!
