The City of Coralville is accepting applications for volunteer firefighters. All training is provided and a new Fire Academy class begins June 17. Applications are available at www.coralville.org/firefighter.
The Coralville Fire Department provides training to become Firefighter I certified and will pay for training to achieve certification of EMT-B. Training in hazardous materials response, vehicle extrication, and confined space rescue is also available.

About the Department
The Coralville Fire Department has two fire stations and provides fire, medical, hazardous materials, and water rescue services for the areas of Coralville, East Lucas Township, and the University of Iowa Research Park.
The Coralville Fire Department also provides proactive prevention services such as site plan reviews and fire safety education. Local community projects include fire safety education and station tours, and the adopt-a-hydrant program.
The Coralville Fire Department is ISO Class 2 rated, and is in the top 3% of all fire departments in the nation with a Class 2 rating or better.
