Transit Delays Due to Construction

Due to road reconstruction on 1st Avenue from 6th Street to 9th Street, Coralville Transit riders may experience delays on all routes beginning in mid-March through late 2018. Service delays during peak traffic times are anticipated. As construction progresses, any changes to routes and schedules will be posted on www.coralville.org/transit.

Impact on Predicted Bus Arrival Time on Bongo

Lane closures and traffic delays will make predicted bus arrival times on Bus on the Go (Bongo, www.bongo.org) inaccurate, however, the real-time maps on Bongo with actual bus locations will be accurate and should be used to locate buses.

Normal transit service and Bongo operations are expected to resume in late 2018, weather permitting, following the completion of road construction. For more information about bus routes and schedules, contact Coralville Transit at 319.248.1790.

About the Construction

1st Avenue from 6th Street to 9th Street is undergoing total reconstruction in 2018.  This is the final section of 1st Avenue south of Interstate 80 that needs to be improved. To reduce traffic delays, staff will monitor traffic times and adjust the timing of traffic signals as needed.  Expect traffic delays and allow extra travel time.  For more information about the construction on 1st Avenue and other area road construction projects, visit www.coralville.org/projects.
