About the Duct Bank Project

Construction of the 1st Avenue Duct Bank Project from 6th Street to 9th Street began on May 18. The project will install a duct bank (multiple utility conduits within an underground corridor) to allow overhead and underground utilities to relocate into the duct bank before reconstruction of this same segment of 1st Avenue begins in March/April 2018.

Traffic Impact

A single lane closure in one direction will be in place each week on 1st Avenue, from 9:00 am on Monday until 3:00 pm on Friday, for the duration of the duct bank project. Construction should be complete by September 1, 2017. Sidewalk access will be maintained along 1st Avenue. Access to businesses within the project corridor will be maintained at all times.
