Summer Day Camps

Two Youth Summer Programs
Coralville Parks and Recreation offers two summer day camps for youth:
  • SPARK: For children who have completed kindergarten through entering sixth grade, and
  • Trail Trekkers: For kids entering sixth through ninth grades.

General Information
About SPARK (Summer Park and Rec Kids) up your child's summer at Coralville Parks and Recreation's weekly themed summer camps!
Age Completed kindergarten through entering sixth grade
Days Monday-Friday
Dates Weekly sessions, June 1-August 12, 2016 
(closed July 4)
  • 8:15 am-4:30 pm (basic camp)
  • 7:00 am-5:30 pm (extended day option)
Activities Arts and crafts, gym games, field trips, swimming
  • Central (Coralville Recreation Center and S.T. Morrison Park, 1506 8th St., Coralville)
  • North (Van Allen Elementary School, 170 Abigail Ln., North Liberty)
  • South (Borlaug Elementary School, 1000 Kennedy Pkwy., Coralville)
  • $160 per week residents / $170 per week non-residents: basic camp (8:15 am-4:30 pm)
  • $25 per week: extended day option (7:00 am-5:30 pm)
  • $30 per week: field trip fee (added to Sessions 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9)
Discounts 10% discount per child, if registered for seven (7) or more weekly sessions

How to Register

  1. Forms available beginning March 1, 2016 online, at the Coralville Recreation Center, or the respective campus location.  
  2. Registration Dates:
    Current Coralville Recreation Partnership Program BASP Families: March 1-25, 2016. 
    General Public: March 30-noon on April 1, 2016. 
  3. Submit registration at the Coralville Recreation Center or respective campus location. Registrations are entered according to the dates listed above and on a first come, first serve basis, based on availability of sessions.
  4. Confirmation e-mails will be sent when registration is complete. If a session is closed, parents will be notified by the Recreation Program Supervisor/ Coordinator.
Apply to Be a Junior Leader
Youth entering grades 7-9 may apply to be a SPARK Junior Leader. Junior Leaders serve approximately 15 hours per week as role models for campers and gain leadership skills.  Applications are due by May 2, 2016.
