The City of Coralville provides recycling services for single family and duplex housing. Curbside recycling is picked up the same day as garbage.
See the garbage and recycling collection days map.
What's Accepted
Paper (including newspaper), plastic (#1-5 and 7), aluminum/tin, and corrugated cardboard*.
All curbside recycling containers must be City-issued yellow bins with black lids.
Each home may have two recycling bins upon request. Check out bins at City Hall at no charge. If your bin is lost, stolen, or damaged, you are responsible for the cost of a replacement bin ($15).
If you move, leave the recycling bin at your service address.
Sort Your Recycling
Recyclables must be sorted for curbside pickup. How to sort
If using two containers, using one bin for paper and cardboard and the other bin for separated metals and plastics.
Drop-Off Recycling
Recyclables may be taken to the Coralville Drop-off Recycling Center, which accepts the same items as curbside recycling. The former Recycling Center on E. 7th Street has closed permanently to allow for continued growth in the Iowa River Landing.
