Fire Station 1

About the Station
Coralville Fire Department Station 1 is the main fire station located at 1501 5th Street.

The first floor of Station 1 houses the administrative offices as well as Engines 74 and 72, Ladder 75, Rescue 77, the rescue boat, a pickup, 2 command vehicles, and a John Deere Gator with a medical bed used for rescues. The second floor has a kitchen and a large training room. The offices of the Fire Chief, The Fire Prevention Officer, and the Training Officer are at this station.

Station 1 was built in 1984 and occupied in 1985.

Fire Station 1 Addition
The first addition and major improvement to Fire Station 1 on 5th Street was completed in 2013. The two-story addition on the north side added approximately 4,300 square feet to the station, and included:
  • Administrative offices
  • Conference room
  • Fitness room
  • Three dorm rooms for the department's residential program
  • Three additional sleeping rooms for volunteer firefighters
